Fat dissolving injections are known as Aqualyx and are based on deoxycholic acid. Your body naturally has it. It is an active ingredient used to target fat cells to trigger emulsification. Those unwanted fat cells will dissolve once it’s injected into the targeted area. Your lymphatic system will then set to work to help you eliminate them naturally.

How many fat dissolving injections do I need?

The recommendation on the number of sessions needed comes after your Bareface Practitioner examines you and learns more about your lifestyle and needs. This treatment is personalised, and the number of sessions might be different from one person to another. If you need more than one treatment, you must know that the sessions should be 3-4 weeks apart. 

Before the procedure 

Although most of our clients don't feel any discomfort during this procedure, your Bareface Practitioner will numb your skin numbed beforehand with a topical anaesthetic cream before treatment begins.

During the procedure 

We only use the finest gauge needles to inject into your skin. You probably won’t feel any discomfort during the treatment. The number of injections needed depends on a number of factors, including the extent of the area being treated. 

After the procedure 

Do not rub or massage the treated areas for 24 hours.  

The area may swell for seven to fourteen days afterwards, so it may be best to plan your treatment around your diary. They area can bruise too and be a little uncomfortable. 

You can return to your normal activities after the procedure, but we do ask you not to do any strenuous exercise for about seven days after your treatment. Bareface Aesthetics practitioner will inform you of any other requirements prior to treatment.
